What better antidote is there to a Bears loss than another Blackhawks win? At this point, none. The Hawks extended their current winning streak to 7 games by stifling the Vancouver Canucks 1-0 last night in Canada. The Hawks have played some pretty tough teams during this current streak — including Colorado, San Jose, and the L.A. Kinds — so I’d say this proves the team is legit. And guess who’ll suit up for the first time on Wednesday? If you said #81 Marian Hossa, you’re right. Can’t wait for that one!
Antti Niemi was definitely the story of last night’s win. He turned back all 30 Vancouver shots, and came up big time and time again. What an excellent performance after being on the bench for the past 2 1/2 weeks. What an amazing find this kid has been!
I am pretty excited about Wednesday night’s game. I just wish it wasn’t on the West Coast. Those start so damn late!
