I’m not into poker that much and don’t really understand why it’s so hugely popular these days, but even I have to admit that the World Series of Poker tournament is pretty cool. Where else can a 21-year-old win $8.5 million for being the last man standing in Texas Hold ‘Em??? But that’s exactly what Joe Cada did last weekend in Vegas. What a payday!!
I don’t know how the WSOP tournament works, so the whole thing is a bit confusing to me. The article I read said Cada brougth $136 million in chips to the final table, while one of his competitors only had $59 million. Why are the amounts allowed to be so vastly different? From an outsider’s point of view, it seems like everyone should sit at the final table with the same amount of chips. Wouldn’t that be more fair?
Anyway, that’s still an amazing amount of money for a 21-year-old to win. Wow.
