It feels like it’s been forever since the Blackhawks last played. They had a nice, long 6-day break and will finally hit the ice tonight against the surprisingly good Phoenix Coyotes. I hate West Coast games because they start/end so late, but I’ll try to at least catch a period or two of this game.
I was hoping that Jonathan Toews and Ben Eager would be back in the lineup after missing numerous games because of concussions, but I just read in the Tribune that they’ll both be sitting out again. This will be the fifth missed game for Toews, the 12th for Eager.
Why is it that hockey players miss so many games after a concussion, but football players are usually ready to go the very next week? Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying anyone should rush back from a concussion. Just wondering about the discrepancy!
