OJ Simpson’s Sentencing Date

I was reading through some Sports Illustrated archives this morning when I came across an interesting article about what is likely to happen to OJ Simpson when he faces sentencing on December 5. As you probably know, Simpson was found guilty of kidnapping with a deadly weapon and various other charges by a Las Vegas jury earlier this month.

On the kidnapping charges alone, he faces a minimum penalty of 15 years in jail, with the possibility of parole after 5 years. That’s if the judge is lenient on him — and if she allows him to serve his sentences for the other crimes concurrently.

I’m betting that the judge will take the middle road. She won’t give him the minimum, but I think she’ll stay away from the max as well, for fear of having people say that it’s payback for the sentence OJ didn’t get 10 years ago for the Brown-Goldman murders — a debacle that would absolutely not happen now that most people are familiar with how accurate DNA testing is. No way would Simpson have walked free if that trial were held today.

Anyway, I bet Simpson ends up serving at least 8 years in jail, not the minimum five or the maximum 15. Check out the Sports Illustrated article here and see if you agree.

I gotta say…Karma is a hell of a thing. I would have to venture that the judge WILL hit Mr. Simpson with the big one. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

That scum bag OJ deserves the maximum he can get. I bet he wishes he had not written that book now…

    I’m backing Smokey

Right on Smokey, seems no one has feelings for the two innocent lives this ****** took out out.

I think the judge will throw the book, and hit em hard.

I believe that O.J. will get the minimum. This is his first real sentence. We cannot just say that the victims that he killed were innocent. They did something to irritate OJ to the point of murder. After all, Nicole, as well as her family and her boyfriend enjoyed all of the nice things that OJ’s money could buy. They could have been a bit more respectful of him and humble for the nice things they received at the hands of OJ. A waiter would have never been able to afford a Ferrari of which this waiter was seen often to be driving. People like nice things but they do not want to pay the piper. OJ has feelings like everyone else.

Wow, J. Cynthia, I do not agree with this sentence at all: “We cannot just say that the victims that he killed were innocent. They did something to irritate OJ to the point of murder.”

Irritating someone is not cause for murder. If OJ couldn’t handle whatever Nicole and Ron were doing, he could have addressed the situation in a thousand other ways that didn’t involve slitting their throats.

Everyone seems to forget a crime is a crime weathers your young or Old, black or white, Male or Female. He was found innocent of the crime of Murder in 1995 (The End) If he were guilty he should have considered himself lucky and kept a low profile. That being said it just shows how arrogant he is (Stupid)to think that he can keep on violating the law and getting away with it. I guess the road rage incident is also forgotten. It was this incident that reinforced his belief that he could walk on water. The water he was walking on was only a puddle now I guess he will have to swim with the sharks. Good Bye SUPERSTAR.

Cynthia, I sure hope you were kidding. They must have done something to irritate OJ to the point of murder. Is this an attempt to blame the victim?

She wasn’t enjoying his money they were divorced and certainly Mr. Goldman gained nothing from Mr. Simpson other than death.

I wonder how you would feel if this was your sister or brother being murdered if you might sing a different tune.

I have just had a nice breakfast and can hardly wait for his sentencing. I am hoping she throws the book at him and give him the max on all counts to run consecutively. I hope he lives out the rest of his worthless life behind bars.

Karma is a wonderful thing! THIS IS NOT HIS FIRST OFFENSE! He deserves the maximum punishment. He has a history of spousal abuse, road rage,He destroyed Nicoles car with a baseball bat, found responsible for the death of Nicole and Ron in Civil Court, even after all that history. He has abused his current girlfriend, and his daughter Sydney, drug arrest and God only knows what else. Hello, Cynthia is this someone you would invite to your Grandmother’s table for Sunday dinner? NOT!
Any idiot knows that when leather gloves that get wet(with any liquid) if you allow them to dry on your hands they shirnk and form to your hands, however, if you take them off before they are dry they will shrink.

The Goldman’s set OJ up! Get a grip people. The Goldman’s need to get a life and get over it! He was found not guilty. Did they ever try to find out if anyone else did it…nope! Being BLACK in America…

The fact that the whole thing was SECRETLY caught on tape and the Goldman’s comments about pushing him to this. Hmmm…sounds suspicious to me! INVESTIGATE THE GOLDMAN’S!

OBAMA SET HIM FREE! Then again, he will win with the appeals process because this was obviously a set-up!

He was only found innocent in a criminal trial but he was found responsible in a civil court. The Goldman’s did not push him into breaking into a hotel room with a gun, hold men hostage, steal from them to please the Gooldmans. Please he has done whatever he has wanted to do and has finally been caught and he deserves the sentence he received. He is a sociopath and he is just where he belongs. OJ claimed to never stop looking for Nicole and Ron’s killer but nothing happened, he did not keep his word. Well, actually he sees the man everyday in the mirror
