Back when I met Jerry 12 years ago, I knew that he enjoyed playing video and computer games. But he was just 23 at the time, so it seemed like a normal hobby for someone his age. Honestly, I thought he would “outgrow” all those games — which of course never happened. Indeed, he’s even more into video games now than he was before, mostly because the technology has advanced so much that the games look awesome on almost any medium, be it a handheld device, LCD TV, or computer.
One problem that we have, however, is that we don’t replace our tech products often enough to accommodate these advanced video games. For example, our laptop is almost four years old already, which is practically ancient by today’s standards. As a result, Jerry can’t play newer game titles on the machine. We either need to upgrade our laptop memory, or buy a new unit altogether. The same thing holds true with our desktop, so Jerry’s really limited with what he can play in this regard.
With the holiday season coming up, we’ll probably come across some great sales on memory and/or new PCs and laptops. If Jerry can hold off until then, I’m sure we’ll be able to outfit him with a good machine that can play the games he wants.
