We put a small fence in our backyard last summer, so ever since then we’ve been able to let our dogs out there to do their business when it’s too hot to go on full walk. Since our son also plays back there, we’re very good about cleaning up messes as they occur — or at least I am. Jerry is a different story entirely.
I found this out last night when I had to run out and retrieve one of my son’s favorite toys that he forgot to bring in — and promptly stepped in… well, I’m sure you can figure it out! It was disgusting, to say the least, and rather than attempt to clean my sandals, I just threw them away. Yuck!
Sure, things would have been different if we had some decent outdoor lighting instead of relying solely on the porch light, but still. I can’t believe Jerry has so much trouble doing little things like cleaning up after the dogs.
I don’t want to be a nagging wife, but look what happens when I don’t hover over him to make sure he does what he’s supposed to. I swear, sometimes it feels like I have two kids instead of just one!

Try putting his stuff on the other side of the lawn. Might shift poop-scooping up on his priority list.
