It’s been a few weeks since I’ve participated in the Booking Through Thursday meme, so I wanted to make sure to jump back in today. Here’s the question of the week:
You’ve just reached the end of a book . . . what do you do now? Savor and muse over the book? Dive right into the next one? Go take the dog for a walk, the kids to the park, before even thinking about the next book you’re going to read? What?
What I usually do after finishing a book is check online for other people’s reactions to it. I’ll either read reviews from the major newspapers if it’s a current release, or check out the customer feedback section on the book’s Amazon.com page. I’ll also do a blog search to see if any bloggers have recently mentioned the title, and then go and read what those folks have to say about it.
After that, I generally write out a full review of my own for my other blog, then immediately move on to my next book.
I pretty much do this for every book I read these days, so I guess you could call this my “process”!

It’s funny how we are all so different. I write my review first and then check out what other people have said, other wise I begin to doubt my own judgement.

I never waver in the judgment I form after I’ve read a novel. Checking out what other people have said simply helps me articulate my thoughts and feelings a bit more clearly :).
