Can you believe that Opening Day is only one week away? It seems like Spring Training just got started a little while ago! Anyway, though I haven’t been following any teams very closely this spring, I am looking forward to the start of the season. I’d forgotten just how long it is between the Super Bowl and Opening Day… since I don’t watch basketball or hockey, I’ve pretty much been pro sports-less since the Giants stomped the Pats back in early February.
So you better believe that I’ll be tuning in on the 25th when the defending World Series champion Red Sox take on the Oakland A’s — in Tokyo, Japan. Daisuke Matsuzaka will be starting that one for the BoSox, so I’m sure it’ll be a wild one for fans over there.
As for my other favorite teams, the Cubs open at home against the Brew crew on March 31; the White Sox kick off the year in Cleveland against the Tribe on March 31; and the Mariners take on Texas at Safeco on March 31.
