Tiger Woods sank a 25-foot putt for birdie on the 18th hole at Bay Hill earlier today to notch his fifth consecutive PGA Tour win. It was also Woods’ 64th career victory, putting him into a tie for third with Ben Hogan on the all-time list.
I’m not so much interested in this particular tournament as I am by the fact that Woods is undefeated in PGA Tour play so far this year, and is now generating talk of a possible perfect season.
I don’t know enough about golf to know what constitutes a perfect season (do Majors count in that?), but that would be pretty damn sweet! I would also like to see Woods take a run at Byron Nelson’s amazing record of 11 victories in a row. If anyone can do it, Tiger can, and he just seems to get better and better every year.
