I hate going to the gym on the weekends, but really have no choice if I want to get in three workouts per week. It’s just so busy over there on Saturdays and Sundays that it takes me a lot longer to go through my routine. I end up waiting for for half of the fitness equipment I want to use, which is obviously no fun.
Also, what’s with people not following proper gym etiquette? Whenever the club is busy, the staff put out signs saying you can only use the machines (treadmills, Stairmasters, ellipticals, stationary bikes) for 30 minutes if someone else is waiting to get on.
Well, I was waiting for one of the Stairmasters today, and could clearly see the timer on one guy’s machine. It was past the 35-minute mark, which he was well aware of. He was monitoring the info panel and he was looking around the gym, so I’m pretty sure he knew exactly what he was doing.
So I had to point out one of the signs to him. He didn’t say anything, but he gave me a dirty look and stopped his workout.
Whatever. I hate jerks like that who know they’re breaking the rules but get mad at the person calling them out.
