This is just a weird story. A pro golfer named Tripp Isenhour has been charged with killing a hawk, which is a protected as a migratory species. According to the article I read, Isenhour was filming something called “Shoot Like a Pro” with a TV crew in Orlando when the bird started making noise.
This interrupted Isenhour’s concentration, and forced another take. So Isenhour decided to start aiming his shots at the bird. First, the bird was 300 yards away, and Isenhour didn’t get close. But then when the bird was about 75 yards away, Isenhour drilled it.
He now faces a maximum penalty of 14 months in jail and $1500 in fines.
While I think that killing a protected bird is disgusting, a part of me can’t help being in awe of what Isenhour did. Can you imagine how hard it would be to hit a bird with a golf ball from 75 yards out??? And yet this is a guy who hasn’t been able to hold on to his tour card.
I wonder what kinds of targets Tiger Woods can hit….
