I checked my PayPal account this morning and noticed that my dividend for January 2008 was deposited on Feb.1. However, I think there might have been a mistake on PayPal’s part, since I only received a measly $1.05 — despite the fact that the stated 7-day yield was 4.0-something percent for most of the month (it’s now at 3.99%) and the fact that I had xxxx.xx dollars in my account for the entire month.
Granted, I wasn’t a math major in school, but there’s no way in hell that $1.05 is the correct dividend.
The PayPal rate has been tanking for several months now, and if PayPal is going to start shafting people on the dividend, then I might as well take my money out and put it into short-term CDs.
I’ve submitted a help ticket to PayPal, but haven’t heard anything back yet (not surprising, as it’s the weekend). If they don’t correct and/or fix this mistake, I’m done with their MMF!
