Googling Old Friends

Come on, admit it: we all Google old friends, classmates, or exes from time to time to see what they’re up to these days. I wasn’t feeling particularly motivated to get started with my writing projects this morning, so I did a little bit of googling instead. Let me tell you, I was pretty surprised at what I discovered!

For instance, one of my ex-boyfriends is now some kind of holistic healer/life coach out in Santa Monica. That is so weird to me because he was totally not that type back in high school.

Another classmate is trying to make it as a screenwriter in L.A., but hasn’t had any luck in the seven years he’s been out there. This was another unexpected result, as this guy was a total jock who barely seemed able to string three sentences together back then.

I also learned that the person voted “Most Likely to Succeed” in our class pretty much lived up to that prediction. His name appears on a list of top New York movers and shakers in investment banking, and he is a bona fide millionaire already. Wow!

I’m sure my classmates would be surprised to see how I turned out as well. I doubt anyone expected me to end up as a work-at-home-mom who makes a living from freelance writing and blogging!
