Booking Through Thursday

Oops, I totally forgot about Booking Through Thursday yesterday! I guess doing it a day late won’t hurt, so here’s this week’s question:

Do you use any of the online book-cataloguing sites, like Library Thing or Shelfari? Why or why not? (Or . . . do you have absolutely no idea what I’m talking to?? (grin))

If not an online catalog, do you use any other method to catalog your book collection? Excel spreadsheets, index cards, a notebook, anything?

I do not own an extensive enough collection of books to require any type of cataloging. I mostly read the classics, which I either pick up at the library or as free downloads from Librivox or Project Gutenberg. I would rather save several trees by reading books in electronic format than build up a book collection.

Don’t get me wrong, I completely understand why people do collect books. I might even do the same thing if I could ever afford anything besides stuff off the bargain paperback table. Those things just aren’t worth keeping around, kwim?
