Now that we’re into December, it’s time to start working on my Christmas card mailing list. I have a very manageable list of about 25 close friends that I like to acknowledge at this time of year, so it shouldn’t take me very long to get through this task.
The only thing I don’t like about mailing out Christmas cards is the actual mailing part. I hate dealing with the post office to begin with, and going there in November or December is just the worst experience imaginable. I know they’ve got a lot to deal with, as their own collection mail boxes are overflowing with parcels, cards, and letters at this time of year, but still… It’s not as though Christmas sneaks up on them, ya know? They should do more to prepare for the season, like hire temps or something. As things stand now, I never get out of that place in less than 30 minutes!
Actually, I should be the one to prepare a bit earlier. I should have stocked up on stamps last month, then I wouldn’t have to step foot in the lobby at all. I could just drop all my mail in the box outside and be done with it.
Oh, well — next year for sure!
