I was fortunate enough to forge some very strong friendships during my college years. I met several people that I still keep in touch with to this day and that I know would bail me out if I ever found myself in a tight situation. I often get together with a couple of women who live in the same area, and it’s fun to reminisce about the good old days (though it’s hard to believe we started school together 15 years ago!).
Unfortunately, a few members of our group moved pretty far away, so I don’t get to see them as much as I’d like. In particular, I’m thinking of my friend Kevin, who relocated to London where he’s been working for the past 5 years. We were pretty much best buds in school, which made it even harder on me when he moved. We were able to meet up back in 2004, but I haven’t seen him since then, and I miss him a lot!
I think it would be a nice gesture to send him some flowers to let him know I’m thinking about him. I just learned about a website called Flora2000.com that can ship beautiful arrangements and bouquets to over 150 countries worldwide. I was surprised to discover that I could order the Bouquet of the Month and have it delivered Next Day in the UK for right around $50. That’s how much it costs to send flowers domestically, so I’d say that price is a bargain!
If you’re in a similar situation and miss a close friend or loved one who’s living abroad, I recommend checking out Flora2000.com today. The site is very easy to use and boasts a fantastic selection of fresh flowers, so why not take a minute to remind your special someone how much you care!
So I won my fantasy football matchup for last week. I actually made a good trade, getting Ben Roethlisberger in exchange for a backup QB (Matt Shaub) and a WR who hasn’t been doing anything at all for me this year (Larry Fitzgerald). I started Roethlisberger this week, and all he did was throw 5 TDs in the first half on Monday Night Football against the Ravens! And to think, I was actually considering starting a different QB because I thought the Baltimore defense was going to be too tough for the Steelers (remember their two losses to the Ravens last year?).
