I usually don’t get into the whole cell phone craze because I don’t use my phone often enough to justify buying a pricey one. However, with the release of the Verizon Voyager today, I might start changing my tune.
The Voyager is supposedly Verizon’s answer to the iPhone. How good it is remains to be seen, but from what I’ve read so far it sounds pretty good. It features high-speed 3G web access, which I guess is something iPhone doesn’t have (I’m not all that familiar with iPhone), so that’s a plus, and it also has a QWERTY keyboard, which is something I would DEFINITELY want from a high-end phone. I’m not wild about the idea of a touch screen only, so all other things being equal, I’d go with Voyager for this reason alone.
Anyway, I think it would be great to be able to have an all-in-one phone for a change instead of having to leave my house with a minimum of three devices (cell, PDA, iPod). Too bad I have 14 months remaining on my T-Mobile contract, otherwise I’d love to check out a Voyager!
