I’m almost embarrassed to admit this, but I’ve had the same winter jacket for 9 years now! It’s a down North Face jacket and is the warmest one I’ve ever had, but still… it’s a bit embarrassing to walk around in the same thing for 9 years. I just couldn’t bring myself to get rid of it though, because it was so warm and there was nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately, I don’t think it’s going to make it through another brutal Chicago winter, so I’ve got to start shopping around for a replacement.
While I usually buy my spring and summer jackets from whatever store is having the biggest sale, I don’t take that approach with winter stuff. Instead, I’m willing to spend extra money to get a product that lasts. I know from personal experience that North Face makes durable outerwear, so you better believe I’ll be investing in another jacket from them this time around!
