Designer Lighting?

So how do you guys feel about designer lighting inside your home? As I’ve mentioned many times before, my husband and I are trying to get several home improvement projects done this year. We’re upgrading our kitchen and bathrooms, and maybe our windows, but we’ve never given a thought to our lights and lighting fixtures.

I just bring this up now because one of my friends asked me what kind of lights we have in the house. Is this something that I’m supposed to know? I have no clue, but apparently my friend thinks lights are a big deal and can probably identify Murray Feiss chandeliers and lamps on sight, but I definitely can’t.  More power to her, I guess!

SportsCenter Catchphrases

As a sports fan, I just love ESPN’s SportsCenter. I love the way they run the shows back-to-back-to-back every morning, so no matter what time I turn the TV on, I’ll be able to catch the entire show in one hour. That’s a convenience that no other network gives viewers, so it definitely sets ESPN apart.

But the best part of SportsCenter has to be the quirky anchors and the funny catchphrases that they throw out during every show. Anyone who watches SC knows that Stuart Scott can’t get through a broadcast without saying “Boo-yah!” at least once, and he’s also the guy that brings us the phrase “As cool as the other side of the pillow.”

Some of my other favorites are, “He’s running like people are chasing him” from John Anderson; “The bases are like Canada during the Vietnam War — full of Dodgers!” from Rece Davis; and “Only Barnes and Noble lets someone stand around longer doing nothing” from Kenny Mayne.

Anyway, I was watching highlights of the Mariners-Yanks game yesterday and the anchor (forgot who it was) tossed out this phrase when some batter struck out: “Like a married man at the Playboy Mansion, he was caught looking.” Ha ha! I’d never heard that one before yesterday, but I think it’s good! I hope they continue using it!!!
