I received my PayPal money market fund dividend for August a couple days ago. The total amount was $15.26, which was more than July’s dividend, but not quite as much as I had hoped I’d get. The interest rate on the fund went back up to 5.04% from 5.02%, so I thought I’d get a bit more than I did. Still, it’s not bad, and these dividend payments do add up over time.

Unfortunately, I already know that my dividend for next month is going to be very low. I have a $700+ credit card bill that I have to pay off and I also have to make an estimated tax payment of about $400 on September 15. Taking that much money out of PayPal will just about wipe me out, which means I have to start rebuilding quickly so that I have some money to spend for the holidays. Can you believe that I just have three more months to save up for Christmas shopping? Where did the time go??!
