I forgot to post about my latest dividend from the PayPal Money Market Fund. I earned a total of $11.65 on my balance for July 2007, and received the deposit on August 2. The dividend was a bit lower than I had hoped for, but that’s because I had forgotten to take a major expense into account when I was making my initial projections. I finally made a couple of Estimated Tax payments this month (one had been overdue since April 15, the other since June 15), which really ate into my balance.
At any rate, here’s how things now stand: I’ve been in the Money Market Fund since February of this year. In that time, I’ve received a total of $86.24 in dividends, with my lowest payout being $3.76 and my highest $19.67.
I don’t foresee too many big expenses for August, so hopefully my next dividend will be in the $14-$15 range. I know it seems silly to keep track of such small amounts as this, but I don’t have too any other investments at the moment and think it’s pretty cool that I am “earning” this money without doing anything at all!
