Fantasy Football 2007

After skipping out on the entire fantasy baseball season this year, I was thinking about doing the same with football. I haven’t been paying much attention to offseason moves around the NFL, so I’m not in any position to head into a draft. But after talking to a couple of people from last year’s league, I decided to go ahead and sign up again this year. It’s only for fun (well, ok — we do put a couple bucks on the line ;) ) and it really does make Sundays more interesting.

One thing I’m going to do differently this year is make sure I attend the draft. Last year something came up at the last minute and I couldn’t log on, so I had to rely on the computer to make selections for me based on pre-determined rankings. That ended up being a complete disaster that saw me go into opening day with Aaron freakin’ Brooks as my starting QB. Yeah, don’t ask.

We have a full league with 12 managers, so I hope I can get a good draft number, like top five at least. Now I just have to go out there and start following training camps, contract situations, and injuries so I can make smart choices!

Brooks? Could be worse, this year you might have gotten stuck with Vick!

Yet another reason to make sure to be there on draft day!! Hopefully his name won’t even be on the roster in our league….
