My home office isn’t really an office at all. We have a very long living room, and we didn’t need all that space for lounging, so I took the back half of it to use for my various business ventures. The room is currently divided by the couch, with our entertainment system in front and my computer, desk, and filing cabinets in back.
This arrangement has worked relatively well, especially since I try to do most of my writing early in the morning or late at night when no one’s watching TV or playing video games. Sometimes, however, I get overwhelmed with assignments and have no choice but to write while the television is blaring in the background. I’m not someone who can work well with that kind of constant noise, so I’m now thinking about creating a cubicle here at home to give me a bit more privacy.
I was looking through some websites and found a lot of options over at BestPricedFurniture.com. They have some great looking panels from Bush furniture that would be perfect for my needs. I could buy two or three of those, line them up behind the couch, and have my own little cubicle right here at home.
Ordinarily, I wouldn’t be excited about the prospect of going to work in a cubicle every day. But I guess knowing that I can move the panels and watch the Cubs game or a movie on my LCD television anytime I want makes all the difference!
