Can you believe that we’re halfway through 2007 already? It seems like this year has been flying by already. And the summer always passes quickly for me, so before I know it, it’ll be fall again! Anyway, I thought I’d dig up this post I made about Resolutions for 2007 to see how many I’ve accomplished thus far. The answer isn’t very encouraging .

Here are my eight original resolutions (in bold) with my updated status immediately following.

1. Lose 10 pounds through a combination of healthier eating and regular exercise. I was doing pretty well with dieting and exercise through March, but have moved away from it in recent months. I haven’t been exercising regularly, and that’s what’s killing me here. I have lost about 4 pounds so far, which means I need to lose a pound a month for the rest of the year to reach my original goal.

2. Increase my online earnings by 10% this year. I am blowing this resolution out of the water!! I’ve actually increased my online earnings by more than 80% through the first six months of the year, which I think is pretty amazing. In fact, I might step back a bit for the rest of the year, take my focus off earning money, and concentrate on achieving some of my other goals.

3. Check into GRE preparation programs and sit for the exam by the end of the year. Um, yeah, not gonna happen. I sometimes miss school, but I don’t think I’m ready to pursue a Master’s degree just yet. There’s even less incentive since I don’t work in my field and have no immediate need for an advanced degree right now.

4. Donate at least $500 each to my two favorite local charities. I haven’t done this yet, but will get around to it by the end of August. It’s already part of my budget!

5. Read one article per day on HowStuffWorks.com to improve my general knowledge. I’m not doing this at all. I’m maybe reading one article per week, and really have no excuse for failing to keep up. I need to get back to learning things.

6. Read at least 2 books per month. Yay, here’s one resolution that I’m keeping! I’m not exactly reading classics all the time, but at least I’m reading something.

7. Send at least one personal email per month to everyone in my address book. Sadly, I have been completely horrible at staying in touch with old friends. There are so many people I need to write to that it’s not even funny. I need to get on the ball with this very soon or I won’t have any friends left!

8. Keep my house cleaner and more orderly on a daily rather than a weekly basis. I have been doing this, but it’s a recent change (like within the last month). It definitely is easier to keep the house clean when I do a little bit each day rather than doing a major cleaning on the weekends, so I think I’ll stick with this routine.
