I just read an article about the upcoming grand opening of Dickens World, a Charles Dickens theme park, in England on April 20. I had no idea that such a thing was in the works and wonder how I could have missed this news until it hit Yahoo.
I am a pretty big Dickens fan. I love Victorian literature in general, and while Hardy is my favorite of all, Dickens definitely ranks in my top five. I know some people can’t stand him and literary snobs turn up their noses at him, but hell, he’s entertaining (for the most part).
Anyway, I’ve got no plans to travel to England in the near future, but if I did, I’d definitely want to visit Dickens World. I would drag my husband along too, as payback for his making me go to Disneyland Paris instead of Versailles!
