I was browsing through the news photos on Yahoo today when I came across this picture of a piglet with three eyes, two mouths, and two snouts. It was born in northwest China, and according to the caption that went along with the pic, experts attribute the extra features to “genetic variation”, which I guess sounds a little less dramatic than “mutation”. I didn’t see a full news article on the pig, so I don’t have any details beyond this.

Anyway, I think this kind of thing is pretty scary. I hope this was just a one-in-a-billion natural occurrence rather than the result of experimentation or something like that.
