Cell Phone Plans

When you think of your cell phone, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Do you congratulate yourself on having the trendiest phone out there, or are you more satisfied with having a calling plan that consistently saves you money month after month? I belong to the latter group of people and definitely think that’s a better situation for the long run.

Ever since Christmas, when, it seems, nearly everyone I know got a new cell phone, I’ve been a little bummed that my phone is so old and non-descript. It’s one that only gets noticed by people who are interested in knowing how long I’ve had it. The answer is, more than two years — an eternity when it comes to gadgets. But one of the main reasons that I’ve had the phone so long is that I’ve got a fabulous family plan right now and am afraid of losing our great calling rates.

As it turns out, it’s easier to find and compare cell phone plans than I thought, especially if I take advantage of the fantastic wireless wizard tool over at Wirefly.com. Wirefly has data about both individual and family plans from all the top carriers, including Cingular, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, Nextel, Amp’d Mobile, Alltel, and more.

To view the current offerings from these carriers in my area, all I have to do is enter my zip code, and the wireless wizard does the rest. Once all the plans for a particular carrier come up, I can check off the ones I’m most interested in, then run a side-by-side comparison so I can see exactly what the differences are and select the plan that best suits my needs. This wizard is very handy and will definitely make anyone’s search for the best cell phone plans go a lot more smoothly.

One thing I’ve discovered today is that it’s possible for me to enjoy the best of both worlds when it comes to cell phones: a great plan and a cool phone, thanks to Wirefly!
