Get Your General Hospital Fix!

If you can’t get enough of the happenings in Port Charles, then you’ve got to check out Soaps.com every day. That’s because Soaps.com provides some of the most extensive General Hospital recaps, updates, and spoilers around.

What I really like about the site is the way they put the daily updates up so quickly. So if you happen to miss an episode, you can just go to Soaps.com and find out everything that went down in that day’s show — complete with pictures (screen grabs) and quotes — which means you’ll be up to speed in no time. Plus, you’ll be able to join the community and interact with other GH fans on the message boards.

Take a look at this fun General Hospital site and get involved today!

Chicago Super Bowl Hype

There’s nothing like a huge sporting event to bring the city together. It’s so cool seeing both businesses and individuals throw their support behind the Bears for tomorrow’s game. The same kind of thing happened when the White Sox were playing the in World Series in 2005, but not to this extent.

There’s a great collection of photos from around Chicago over on the Tribune website that I recommend checking out. Here’s a direct link to the gallery:

And one of my favorites from that collection (photo by David Klobucer):

Free eCards from eGreetings

I’m one of those people who sends Valentine’s greetings not only to my husband, but to all my close girlfriends as well just to let them know I’m thinking about them. This year, I’d like to send eCards instead of traditional greetings because I don’t want to have to deal with traffic and lines at the store and post office.

I’ve already been looking around, and I think the free eCards over at Egreetings.com are the best I’ve seen so far. I like the wide selection of funny greetings that they have, especially this card about Cupid pickup lines.

If you like the offerings over at Egreetings.com, you might want to think about signing up for a membership. You can get a 30-day free trial (credit card info required to sign up), and then you can extend your trial membership to a full one-year membership (for just $13.99), during which time you can send an unlimited number of eCards. Take a look!

Strange Sight for Carmichael Fans

I’ve been a big fan of MX racer Ricky Carmichael ever since he was on the Splitfire/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki team in the late 1990s. I was pretty bummed when he retired last year to turn his attention to NASCAR, and still haven’t gotten used to him not running the full SX and MX series.

Anyway, here’s another sight I can’t quite get used to: Carmichael’s big #4 on the side of a car instead of a Suzuki RMZ450 :(. I won’t watch NASCAR just because he’s joining the series, but I’ll still be pulling for him.

Family Birthdays Coming Up

I’ve got a bunch of family birthdays coming up in the next two months. They’re mostly extended relatives such as my cousins and uncles, but we still do the gift exchange thing. With our vacations coming up soon, I don’t have a lot of extra money to spend, so I’m thinking of getting everyone some magazine subscriptions for their birthdays because everyone likes magazines, right?

Anyway, I’ve been checking out this site called magsdirect.com for the last month or so and am convinced that they have some of the lowest subscription prices around. I can get my relatives the popular magazines that they always read plus save money while doing it. It seems like a win-win situation, so I’ll probably go for it!

iPAQ Internet Connection?

I’ve had my iPAQ RX1955 for a couple of months now and I have been extremely happy with its performance. I use it mostly for memos, tasks, appointments, and ebooks, but have recently wanted/needed to connect to the Internet with it.

However, I can’t figure out how to get the WiFi feature to work. I have a wireless router in my home, so I should be able to use my iPAQ within these walls, if nowhere else. But the device just doesn’t pick up a signal at all.

I’ve read the instruction manual a hundred times, but can’t figure out what the problem is. Do any of you have any tips for me?
