Daily Coverage of All My Children

I used to watch daytime soaps when I was younger, but haven’t had much time for them in recent years. Plenty of my friends still watch, though, so I get to hear updates on different shows from time to time.

About a week ago, I came across a website called Soaps.com, and I told all my friends about it. One of my best friends in particular is a huge All My Children fan, and I knew she would get a kick out of the site. The All My Children pages are very comprehensive, and feature daily recaps, message boards, cast bios, photos, and even spoilers. What soap fan could resist having all of these resources right there on a single site?

Soaps.com provides the same extensive coverage for all daytime soap operas, so you’ll enjoy the site no matter which shows you watch regularly. Check it out!

Celeb Super Bowl Picks

We are now just about 48 hours away from Super Bowl XLI!!! I can’t even begin to tell you how excited I am! I have a busy day scheduled for tomorrow since I want to get two days’ worth of work done so I can just sit back and relax during the Super Bowl.

Anyway, I was reading ESPN.com earlier and I saw this article about the annual Scripps Howard Celebrity Super Bowl Poll. (Incidentally, it says that this is the “18th annual” poll, but I’ve never heard of it before!) One hundred celebrities gave their picks for the poll, and an overwhelming 71% think the Colts will win. Whatever.

I thought the “reasoning” behind the picks were pretty amusing, things like “Because Peyton Manning’s my favorite quarterback” or “Because they’re due.” Yeah, as if that has any bearing on the outcome of a sports event!

Information on Adjustable Beds

I have a bad back and spend many nights tossing and turning instead of sleeping comfortably. I’m convinced that a lot of it has to do with our bed, so I’ve actually been looking into purchasing an adjustable one. Of course, adjustable beds cost several thousand dollars, so I have to do a lot of research prior to making a decision.

I found out that there are several different types of adjustable beds, with two of the more popular ones being coil spring (this is the standard mattress that most beds have) and memory foam, which is the material that most people recommend these days. From what I’ve read, there are more health and comfort benefits associated with memory foam, so I think I would go with that variety despite the higher costs.

While I was checking around, I also found a site that gives unbiased adjustable bed reviews and general information. The report on that site was pretty comprehensive and should definitely be read by anyone thinking of purchasing an adjustable bed.

I haven’t made a decision yet, but I really do want to get a new bed soon. I’ve already forgotten what it’s like to be able to sleep through the whole night!

Dance, Dance Revolution

I’ll admit it: my husband bought Dance, Dance Revolution for PlayStation, what, like 10 years ago when it first was popular. I thought the game was pretty annoying, but I could see how others would think it was fun.

Anyway, I was surprised to hear that not only is this game still around today, but also that all West Virginia public schools will make it available to students in an effort to combat obesity. I guess studies have shown that people who play the game for 30 minutes a day five days a week had an easier time maintaining their weight (i.e. not getting bigger) than those who didn’t.

According to the article I read, the West Virginia schools will have after-school clubs for kids that want to play Dance, Dance Revolution. I guess it’s being offered as an alternative to sports.

Sounds like an interesting move on the part of the school administration. I wonder if it’ll work!
