I have a thing about germs and am very conscientious about washing my hands or using hand sanitizer throughout the day. Don’t get me wrong: I’m not obssessed with cleanliness like Howard Hughes or anything, and on a certain level I know that I can’t avoid germs, but still… I like going through the motions.
Anyway, earlier Tuesday I went out to pick up some miscellaneous office supplies. The cashier rang up my total and took my money as usual. Then he sneezed into his hand, and used THAT SAME HAND to give me my change!!!! It was totally and completely disgusting!! I had to bite my tongue in order not to go off on him. I swear, if the amount had been less than what it was ($13), I would have just told him to keep it.
I know money is dirty anyway, what with people stuffing it in their sweaty socks, shoes, and bras (not to mention shoving it up their nostrils in order to snort coke), but I could really do without the fresh germs. YUCK.
