One thing that frustrates me about searching for something on the Internet is the way most search engines rank their results. URLs with lots of incoming links get boosted to the top of the results, even if they happen to be nothing more than spam sites or so-called information portals. Since they’ve got the right keyword links, they go to the top whether the content is there or not.
That’s why I’m interested in the search model in use by Spoose.com. I visited the Sproose home page and learned that their search results are determined in part by user ratings. When users like a site and give it a high rating, that site immediately moves up in the index. I can also personalize Sproose so that it saves a personal index of the sites I like best for particular keywords. Pretty cool, huh? Check it out!
