Amazing Fiesta Bowl Ending

By now you’ve probably heard that Boise State beat Oklahoma 43-42 in the Fiesta Bowl thanks to a couple of trick plays. First, they used a hook-and-ladder play on 4th-and-18 to tie the game with just a few seconds left in regulation. Then, after Adrian Peterson scored on Okalahoma’s first possession in OT, the Broncos came right back with a TD of their own. Instead of kicking the extra point and pushing into another OT, Boise State coach Christ Peterson decided to go for two. The Broncos took it on a Statue of Liberty play (of all things) and sealed the victory.

I thought that was pretty amazing! I didn’t see the game, but I did catch SportsCenter. Here are some YouTube highlights if you missed the action:

NuShield Screen Protectors

I bought an HP iPaq PDA a little while ago, and absolutely love the product. I want to take care of it, of course, so I started looking around for screen covers right away. The first one I tried out worked just fine, except for the fact that it wasn’t completely clear and distorted the text on my ebooks.

I then bought a NuShield screen protector and am much happier with the way it works. It’s non-adhesive and it’s clear, which is better for both my PDA screen and my eyes. NuShield protectors can even be washed and used over and over again, but I haven’t actually tried this so I don’t know how well that goes.

I’ve heard that replacing a damaged PDA screen costs almost as much as buying a whole new unit, so I’m definitely going to do all I can to protect mine!

Tomato Ice Cream???

I was going through my Japanese cell phone this morning to clean out a bunch of old text messages and photos. That’s when I came across this one: it’s a picture from a restaurant menu that features tomato ice cream!! Japan has a lot of weird ice cream flavors, but I have to say that this is definitely one of the strangest. I wasn’t brave enough to try it…. Is this something you could eat???

Protect Young MySpace Users

Unfortunately, we live in a society where our children can be at risk to dangerous predators even when they’re in their own homes. That’s because online social networking sites like MySpace open them up to potentially harmful situations that parents might not be aware of.

Sure, you can prohibit your children from using MySpace, but that, combined with the fact that “all their friends are doing it,” could make them try even harder to get on the site. The only way to completely guard against this sort of thing is to monitor your children’s online activity with a MySpace spy software program. This will record your children’s computer usage and tell you what kind of websites they visit, which pages they look at, and what kind of messages they receive and send.

The more advanced programs like SpectorSoft are much better than simple keystroke recorders. With SpectorSoft, you’ll be able see actual screenshots of what’s happening on the computer, which you can then play back at your convenience.

I’m a parent and I know I won’t be taking any chances when my son starts using the Internet. I don’t think you should either!
