Shopping With Online Coupons

The holidays are just around the corner, and I don’t plan on going anywhere near a mall. Instead, I’m going to do all my shopping online. That way, I don’t have to deal with the weather, traffic, parking issues, or rude people.

I’ve been shopping online for a few years now, and one thing I’ve learned to do is find coupons before I place my order. For example, one of my favorite retailers is Amazon.com because they generally have competitive prices and they have so many different kinds of products available on their site. I always search for Amazon coupon codes before I do any shopping so that I can save even more money off their already low prices.

So where do I go to get these coupons that will allow me to save some extra cash during the holidays? My main hookup is CouponChief.com, a site that has coupons for tons of different retailers all in one place. The site is very easy to use and has a great search function that enables me to quickly find the exact discount codes I need. I really don’t know what I’d do without this handy site!

“Borat” No. 1 at the Box Office

Well the weekend box office figures are in and it looks like Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan beat out the competition. The movie took in an estimated $26.4 million while Tim Allen’s The Santa Clause 3 came in second place with a $20 million dollar haul. Flushed Away from Disney was third with $19.1 million.

I was actually planning on seeing Borat this weekend, but didn’t get around to it. Maybe next week!

Full story from Yahoo Entertainment right here.

Ever Heard of the Postie Patrol?

Over at PayPerPost, they occasionally send team members out to interact with the company’s paid bloggers. This squad is known as the Postie Patrol, and let me tell you, they’re hilarious! They just went out on their second mission, and challenged one of their bloggers to an eating contest that was reminiscent of Fear Factor.

There’s no way I could have gotten through even half of that pizza without having it all come back up again! I have to give that guy Gus a lot of credit for eating that whole thing and keeping it down. That would definitely be worth $400 though!

If the Postie Patrol ever came to my neck of the woods, I’m not sure what kind of challenge I’d take on. Maybe the scavenger hunt as that sounds the easiest. Of course, they probably have some pretty embarrassing items on that list!

Saddam Hussein Sentenced

saddam husseinSo the big news of the day has to be that former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein has been sentenced to death (by hanging) for “crimes against humanity.”

I don’t think anyone can really be surprised by the verdict here. There certainly wasn’t any question in my mind that the was going to be found guilty. The only thing that marred the proceedings was the fact that the trial turned into such a circus for the most part. Three of Saddam’s defense attorneys were murdered during the course of the trial and there were numerous other problems as well.

New International Search Engine on the Horizon!

I don’t know about you, but I like having a lot of choices when it come to the Internet. For example, I like the fact that there are numerous high-speed access providers to choose from and the fact that there are several different browsers that I can go with. Now it seems that we’ll soon have another exciting choice when it comes to search engines. That’s because of the emergence of Megaglobe - New International Search Engine.

Megaglobe will service and represent the entire world, which is pretty powerful stuff if you ask me. Their search engine will be available in 45 different languages, thus making it easily accessible to people all over the globe. In addition, Megaglobe plans on offering its sponsor listings (called MegaGlobe ads) in 50 different currencies. Now that sounds like a fantastic tool for advertisers that want to reach potential customers in other countries!

Personally, I think the best part of the whole Megaglobe concept is the way the company is committed to fighting click fraud. Check out this press release right here to see what Megaglobe’s stance on the issue is:

Click fraud press release

I’m sure that’s something that Internet advertisers will be glad to hear!

While Megaglobe isn’t live yet, you can still read more about this new international search engine in these press releases:

Megaglobe’s 304 Domain Names

Megaglobe: A Revolution in Search Engines

I can’t wait for Megaglobe to go live because I’m definitely excited about the features this new search engine will have!

Moving to North Carolina?

I just got a call from my cousin who said he’s probably going to be moving to North Carolina. Apparently he received a very good job offer from a firm out there and the money is just too good to pass up. Anyway, he told me the city he’d be based in, and said that his next step is to buy or rent a house in that area.

I wanted to see for myself what kind of area he’d be living in, so I decided to check out some Cary NC real estate. I have to admit that I was very impressed by the size of the houses as well as by the prices. If my cousin does decide to move there, he’ll definitely be able to get a lot of value for his money as far as housing goes!

Bears Lose to Miami

rex grossman miamiWell, so much for talk of an undefeated season. After winning their first seven games, the Chicago Bears fell — quite unexpectedly — to the Miami Dolphins. It was a game in which the Bears simply couldn’t overcome all their mistakes. They committed a total of six turnovers, and three of those led to Miami scores. Quarterback Rex Grossman had another terrible outing (his second in three games). He threw for 210 yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions.

The defense looked shaky as well. Instead of bailing the team out like they did against the Arizona Cardinals three weeks ago, the Chicago D couldn’t get any stops and allowed Miami to pretty much have their way out on the field. They gave up 31 points, which was the most in a single game this season.

The next three games don’t look any easier for Chicago, as they have to take on the Giants, Jets, and Patriots. If they win one of those games (likely against the Jets), they should consider themselves lucky.
